Protection of Personal Information
Brock University collects personal information that is required to carry out its mandate and to perform related administrative functions. Personal information will be collected used and disclosed in a manner that is consistent with the original purpose(s) of collection, and in keeping with FIPPA.
Where collecting personal information, the University will provide notice to an individual of the legal authority to collect the personal information, the purpose for which the information is collected, and a contact person who can answer questions about the collection.
Once collected, access to and use of this personal information is restricted to those who need it in order to fulfill the purpose(s) for which it was intended. Various safeguards are in place to ensure that the information is protected from improper use, disclosure or destruction. The University's Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Policy includes responsibilities regarding protection of privacy.
The University will make every reasonable effort to protect personal information and maintain its accuracy and completeness.
